Eleven local youth are getting help with their arts education from the Huntsville Festival of the Arts (HFA).
Officials say the senior scholarship goes up to $1,500, and the junior scholarship up to $300.
Senior Scholarship:
- Blake Quinlan (technical studies)
- Bridget Johnson (violin)
- Juniper Nuedling-Black (piano)
- Kara McClung (piano, voice)
- Thomas Flynn (film and theatre acting)
- Xee Busse (saxophone)
Junior Scholarship:
- Chloe Hawes (dance)
- Isaac Leonard (guitar)
- Malcolm Fairhall (saxophone)
- Ryleigh Lay (dance)
- Scarlett Fisher (piano)
“We believe that it is our responsibility to support and reinvest in the community through expanded outreach, educational programming and the scholarship programs,” says HFA Executive Director Dan Watson. “We have incredibly talented young people in this region and we are honored to assist them as they develop their skills even further.”
Officials say this year’s recipients will use the funds for tuition, training, lessons, and buying instruments.
