The province has added 163 new cases of COVID-19 bringing the provincial total up to 34,016.
In her regular daily tweet, Health Minister Christine Elliott says 30 of Ontario’s 34 public health units are reporting five or fewer new cases with 16 reporting no new cases at all. Elliot says, “That’s welcome news as we continue to safely and gradually reopen the province.”
Another 12 people have died from COVID-19 bringing the total number of people who have passed away to 2,631 across the province.
Ministry of Health data shows that 23,207 tests have been completed in the last 24 hours.
The recovery rate inched up to 86.2-percent as 229 patients were considered resolved over the last day.
Like most of last week, today Ontario is reporting fewer than 200 cases, with 163 new cases of #COVID19 or a 0.5% increase. With 229 more resolved, there are now also 66 fewer active cases in the province. Yesterday, Ontario processed over 23,000 tests.
