As well, the Muskoka Women’s Advocacy Group is holding a vigil in Bracebridge tomorrow to mark the massacre’s 25th anniversary and to honour its victims. In 1989, Marc Lepine went into the university, targeting women. He killed fourteen women, injured ten and four men before killing himself. Experts say 50 per cent of women in Canada will experience domestic violence at least once in their lives. Tomorrow has since been marked as the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women. The vigil happens at the Memorial Park Bandshell in Bracebridge at 6pm.
