District of Muskoka releases 2022 financial report

The District of Muskoka has unveiled its finances for 2022.

According to a report, the district has added $20.3-million worth of financial assets to its $2.88-billion total.

Municipal debt is down by $3.7-million, which officials say reduces the tax burden on residents, and frees up funds for other initiatives.

Reserve funds have also grown by $21.4-million, earmarked for unforeseen expenses such as emergency maintenance and replacement of district property.
