A Lake of Bays resident is challenging people to donate to the Huntsville Hospital Foundation (HHF) after a $250,000 donation of her own.
Paula Coleman will match up to $50,000 of donations towards Muskoka’s first MRI machine.
“My family has been cottagers here for over 20 years and we all see Huntsville Hospital as our hospital. We’ve needed it often enough to know that as fact,” says Coleman. “This donation is our thank you. The $50,000 match is a challenge to everyone in the area. Having MRI and advanced diagnostic imaging close by is critical to everyone’s health.”
According to the foundation, the MRI is expected to be used roughly 3,000 times per year, with that number going up over time. Officials say it will reduce wait times and keep residents from having to travel outside the region for important scans.
