Huntsville resident facing six charges in OPP child exploitation investigation

A Huntsville resident is facing charges after an OPP child sexual exploitation investigation.

On July 25, the OPP executed a search warrant at the accused’s residence, with several electronic devices being seized.

The 51-year-old was charged with:

  • Luring a child to facilitate the offence of invitation to sexual touching contrary to section 172.1(b);
  • Luring a child to facilitate the offence of make child pornography contrary to section 172.1(b);
  • Make sexually explicit material available to a child contrary to section 172.1(1)(b);
  • Possession of child pornography contrary to section 163.1(4);
  • Fail to comply with probation order contrary to section 733.1(1); and,
  • Fail to comply with prohibition order contrary to section 162(4).

The accused remains in custody following a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge.

OPP Detective Staff Sergeant Sharon Hanlon says our most fundamental responsibility as a society is to protect our children form those who would do them harm and they can’t do it alone. They ask parents to ensure they maintain the same level of protection for their children online as they do in the real world.
