Expect high water levels in the Muskoka River this week.
The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry says after recent rainfall, water levels and river flows are higher than normal for this time of year, and low-lying or flood-prone areas may be impacted to various degrees over several days.
Officials say to exercise caution around these areas, as well as shorelines and forest access roads, and to keep a close eye on children and pets.
They add residents who have been affected by high water in the past should take actions to protect vulnerable property, and boaters should watch their wakes to avoid causing property damage.
