Baysville’s Lake of Bays Arena is now open for the season.
The township had further bumped back the opening due to delays in replacing the facility’s ice refrigeration system. That included supply chain issues, shipping delays, and labour strikes.
Funded by a $500,000 provincial grant, officials say the new ice plant will use fewer resources, be cheaper to operate, and create less carbon. It replaces a model from 1979.
