UPDATED Nov. 15: Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare says scheduled outpatient exams and surgeries continue as scheduled.
The South Muskoka Memorial Hospital has declared a facility-wide COVID-19 outbreak.
That means visiting is suspended to the whole hospital, including the emergency department, save for essential caregivers and special circumstances. However, officials say “scheduled outpatient exams and surgical procedures at SMMH continue as scheduled unless patients are directly advised otherwise.”
Officials say eight patients and six staff have tested positive across four inpatient units, with testing continuing and enhanced safety measures in effect.
