The Fire and Ice Festival will take over downtown Bracebridge this Saturday.
To accommodate, officials with the Town of Bracebridge say starting at 6 p.m. Friday until 2 a.m. Sunday, Dominion St. will be closed from Quebec St. to Manitoba St. and Rene Caisse Lane will be closed from Manitoba to Kimberley Ave.
The Woodchester parking lot at Entrance Dr. will be closed on Saturday from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m.
Officials say the festival will also affect Bracebridge Transit.
On Saturday, bus stops 270 at Taylor Rd. and Hiram St. and 280 at St. Thomas Anglican Church will be unavailable. A new step, 270b, will be set up on Hiram, a few steps north of the Taylor intersection.
Meanwhile, stop 290 at the Shier Building will also be unavailable, however, stop 300 at Ann St. and James St. can be used as an alternative.
Starting at 2:30 p.m., stop 120 at Bird Mill Mews will be unavailable with 110 at Ecclestone Dr. and Young St. or 130 at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 161 at 168 Muskoka Rd. noted as the alternatives.
In hopes it prevents traffic jams, officials say a free shuttle service will be running on Saturday from 9 a.m. until 6:30 p.m.
It will pick people up at Stevens’ Your Independent Grocer at 270 Wellington St., the Habitat ReStore at 505 Muskoka Rd., Home Depot at 10 Depot Dr., and Bracebridge and Muskoka Lakes Secondary School at 100 Clearbrook Trail.
