With seven new individuals and businesses sponsoring parts of the Muskoka Lumber Community Centre (MLCC), the Town of Bracebridge says nearly $4 million has been raised.
The newest contributors include:

- $60,000 from Stevens’ Your Independent Grocer over 20 years for the naming rights to one of the universal team rooms in the Muskoka Lumber Arena and a universal change room in the Proline Rentals Fieldhouse
- $30,000 from Dr. Ted Zhou over 10 years for the naming rights to the recording studio in the Coulson Family Bracebridge Library
- $25,000 from the de Koning family over 20 years for the naming rights to one of the universal team rooms in the Arena
- $15,000 from John Sisson and Robin Hiltz to be used to buy five defibrillators
- $13,000 from Muskoka Kia over 15 years for the naming rights to 26 seats in the Area
- $2,000 from the Lions Club of Bracebridge
The announcement was made Wednesday afternoon at the Bracebridge Sportsplex. Throughout the construction process of the MLCC, multiple similar sponsorship announcements have been made.
“It’s hard to believe that we are only months away from the grand opening of the Muskoka Lumber Community Centre,” says Mayor Rick Maloney. “We have come this far because of the ongoing generosity of our sponsors and donors, and the continued support of the community. Thank you to everyone who has played a role in helping bring this generational facility to life.”
The MLCC is slated to open in Aug. 2024.
