A home on Lengra Hollows was a “total loss” after a structure fire on Thursday.
The Huntsville Lake of Bays Fire Department says 30 firefighters and seven trucks from four different stations responded to the site in Huntsville just after 6:30 p.m.
Officials say crews worked quickly to keep the fire from spreading to neighbouring buildings, but the home was a total loss, with damage estimated at $500,000. They add one person was taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation.
The department encourages people to have an escape plan handy in case of a fire, adding the cause and circumstances of this incident are under investigation.
