The “Bay and Beyond” infrastructure project has forced the Town of Gravenhurst to delay the opening of the splash pad and washrooms at the Muskoka Wharf’s sports field.
Officials with the Town of Gravenhurst explain how the area will be used for equipment staging and there may be a lot of dust in the air from the construction, so the best course of action is to keep the area closed.
However, they’re optimistic the splash pad and washrooms will be open in August but add any construction issues could affect the tentative reopening date.
The multi-year project started this month along an 800 m stretch going east along Bay St. between Steamship Bay Rd./North Muldrew Lake Rd. to the Greavette Rd. and Bay St. intersection.
In the meantime, town officials suggest taking a dip in one of Gravenhurst’s nine beaches.
