There will be plenty of people at Memorial Park in downtown Bracebridge on Sunday for Muskoka Pride’s annual parade and festival this Sunday.
Shawn Forth, secretary and promotions for Muskoka Pride, says there will be multiple closures for the event:
- Rene Caisse Ln. from 7 a.m. until 6 p.m.
- James St. from Ann St. to Ida St. from 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m.
- Ida St. from James St. to Manitoba St. from 11:30 a.m. until 2 p.m.
- Manitoba St. from Ida St. to Ontario St. from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m.
Forth says the festival starts at 11 a.m. and runs until 3 p.m.
He details how there will be live music throughout the day, multiple vendors, activities for kids, food, and a drag performance by Muskoka Drag Royalty.
Forth explains the parade starts at 12:30 p.m., with close to 200 people expected to walk down Manitoba St. from Kimberly Ave. at Memorial Park going towards the four-way lights at Entrance Dr. before dispersing.
Forth expects as many as 1,500 people will be downtown for the event which caps off the annual Muskoka Pride Week.
