The Huntsville Art Society is looking to fill vacancies for their board after some member’s resignations.
Sam Sullivan, secretary at Huntsville Art Society, says due to illnesses, full-time jobs and other projects have led to some board members resigning recently.
“Unfortunately, as life goes on, sometimes some members are not able to do the duties that they were doing,” says Sullivan. “Some individuals that need to be moving along with other items, and we’re just very thankful for how helpful everybody has been.”
She says they are looking for “passionate and enthusiastic” people to keep the arts community strong within Huntsville.
“When you’re an artist, it’s always a difficult avenue to have a chance to meet different people,” says Sullivan.
Sullivan adds the board is responsible for coordinating a number of art shows per year, researching new venues, providing information and networking to members, administration and accountability of club funds, bylaws, and strategic planning for the future.
“Our volunteers that have been on the board have worked very hard in their duties, and we are more than appreciative of the amount of work that they’ve taken on all this time,” says Sullivan “Thankfully, we’ve had a very good, interest in the volunteer positions available at this time.”
She says some of the vacancies include co-chair, secretary, treasurer, newsletter editor, and more.
