The Children’s Foundation of Muskoka is the recipient of an all-day fundraiser this Thursday.
The event will be hosted by ProActive Rehab from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Jaimee Copeman, Registered Massage Therapist with ProActive Rehab, says they have been supporting the foundation for years.
“We believe that the more movement you can get in your life, the better,” says Copeman. “So why not start at a younger age? The foundation supporting kids in our community stay active was a big importance to us as a business.”
She adds the foundation helps fund those that can’t afford to put their kids in swimming lessons or basketball camp or any kind of extramural or extracurricular activities.
Copeman says this year, they decided to do something bigger for the foundation to show more support and awareness.
“We’re going to have some carnival games to help raise money. There’s one big one that’s called the Cornhole Splash, which will involve our therapists,” shares Copeman. “If you get the cornhole, then you end up getting the splash, your therapist.”
She adds they are also having a BBQ from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. alongside a silent auction. She says people can participate by donating.
“They can purchase lunch here at the barbecue. They can bid on a silent auction item, purchase some baked goods, and all the money; 100% of the proceeds will go towards a children’s foundation.”
