Community Living Huntsville will host its third annual Golf Fore Inclusion this Thursday (Sept. 26) to support housing initiatives.
According to officials the funds raised will support their affordable housing initiatives for people with developmental disabilities, and families who access our services in our community.
The event will be held at Deerhurst Lakeside Golf Course starting at 9 a.m. Registration is $120 per golfer.
Jennifer Jerrett, Community Engagement Specialist with the non-profit, says they will have a hole-in-one cash prize of $10,000.
“The first golfer to sink a hole-in-one on a select hole during the tournament could walk away with that exciting prize,” says Jerrett.
She says the golf tournament is an all-abilities tournament meaning there is no experience required.
“We all know there’s a housing crisis right now, especially for people who need affordable housing,” shares Jerrett.
She says they support several people in the community who are almost on the “cusp of homelessness because rent prices have skyrocketed.”
“The housing market hasn’t been great in forever, but really since COVID, we have seen a huge shift in the cost for rental units,” she says.
