Stolen property leads to the arrest of Algonquin Highlands resident

An Algonquin Highlands resident is facing charges following a reported theft from a Huntsville business.

OPP says on Sept. 30, officers began investigating a theft report at a local business. According to the report, an employee stole over $60,000 in construction materials.

Police say on Oct. 2, officers recovered the stolen property in Haliburton with help from the Muskoka Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU).

According to police, a 62-years-old of Algonquin Highlands was arrested and charged with:

  • Theft Over $5,000 
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000 
  • Fraud Over $5,000 

The accused was released and will appear in court at a later date.
