With changes coming to the paramedic coverage in West Muskoka, the District of Muskoka is holding an information session for residents to learn about their 10-year master plan.
The session will be at the MacTier Community Center on Oct.17 at 6 p.m.
Officials say this information session is for residents to know the next steps for MacTier and Port Carling and how these decisions will enhance and improve emergency services in Muskoka for everyone.
The District of Muskoka says the paramedic station in MacTier is set to close in 2025. A paramedic response unit will be in the community by this December, and the MacTier ambulance will be relocated to Southern Georgian Bay by early 2025. The physical station will close in October of that year.Â
Officials add a new Glen Orchard Paramedic Station, located halfway between Glen Orchard and Port Carling, is currently under construction. The operations at the current Port Carling Station will be repositioned to the new Glen Orchard Station in early 2025.Â
