Bracebridge looking for feedback on implementing a Municipal Accommodation Tax

Bracebridge Council approved implementing a Municipal Accommodation Tax last October, and now, it is looking for public input to understand the current needs, challenges and opportunities.

Town of Bracebridge says both tourism stakeholders and residents are invited to review the project details and complete an online survey by Oct. 20th. It’s available at engagebracebridge.ca/MAT.

Bracebridge is the only urban centre in Muskoka that does not levy the accommodation tax. Officials say it could generate revenue to help support local tourism initiatives and strategic priorities.

Following the feedback, staff will bring a report to Council with the results and a proposed implementation plan.
