Moose FM Thanksgiving radiothons raise over $237,000 for Muskoka hospitals

Moose FM’s two Muskoka stations raised over $237,000 for our region’s two hospital foundations during Friday’s Thanksgiving Radiothons.

After 12 hours on-air, Huntsville’s 105.5 Moose FM raised $135,670 for the Huntsville Hospital Foundation (HHF), while Bracebridge’s 99.5 Moose FM raised $101,538 for the South Muskoka Hospital Foundation (SMHF).

Katherine Craine, Chief Executive Officer at HHF was in-studio all day. She says the day shows how passionate the community is for the hospital.

“It just humbles you to see our community come to the table for us and to really celebrate us as a hospital,” says Craine.

Leah Walker, Executive Director of the SMHF, was at the Bracebridge station all day. She says this year, the amount raised surpassed all her expectations.

“We will be able to fund the urgently needed equipment and technology needed throughout our hospital in order to care for our community,” says Walker.

Donations are still being accepted on the HHF and SMHF websites.
