Saying “yes” to ENCORE has given Wendy Dwyer of Gravenhurst a million reasons to smile.
OLG says the retiree, who has been playing the lottery for decades, matched all seven ENCORE numbers in the exact order back in June.
According to Dwyer, she always chooses the same set of numbers, which are based on some significant birthday.
OLG says while she hoped her special numbers would one day lead to a big win, it was a LOTTO 6/49 Free Play–which she added ENCORE to–that brought her to the OLG Prize Centre for the first time.
Dwyer says when she was scanning her tickets at the store, she was expecting non-winners.
“I was frozen,” she recalls when picking up her windfall. “I must have stood there for five minutes. It’s certainly shocking! I first shared the news with my husband, and like me, he couldn’t believe it.”
Dwyer says she has yet to decide what she’ll do with the money.
The winning ticket was purchased at Palmeri’s Your Independent Grocer on First Street North in Gravenhurst.
