Port Carling Pavilion work begins

An important project in Port Carling is underway.

That’s according to The District of Muskoka, which says work has begun on the transformation of the Port Carling Pavilion and docks this winter.

Officials say the pavilion and docks will be re-built to keep the same familiar look but with “safer, stronger structures and updated features”.

Changes include improving ramps and pathways to make them more accessible, structural upgrades, dock reconstruction and modern lightning.

Officials say the work is set to start this fall and wrap in time for the 2025 boating season.

Pedestrian access to the boardwalk and locks will remain open, vehicle access to Lock Street will be restricted to emergency vehicles only.
