The first stage of the Bay and Beyond project is nearing completion

The second phase of the first stage of the Bay and Beyond project in Gravenhurst is wrapping up, and the District of Muskoka says crews will not slow down over the winter.

The project started in June and sees aging infrastructure being replaced between Gull Lake Rotary Park and the Muskoka Wharf.

The District says properties will soon transition from the temporary setup to the newly installed permanent water main, ensuring a more reliable water service.

Reconstruction of Bay Street is underway, and new sidewalks, curbs, and temporary streetlights will be installed. This year’s work will be capped off with a base layer of asphalt being laid down.

The District says the multi-year project aims to upgrade critical underground systems that have been in place since 1944.
