Remembrance Day ceremonies planned for Muskoka area

Muskoka is preparing to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice.   

Monday, Nov. 11, is Remembrance Day in our country.  

The Royal Canadian Legion says it’s a time to remember Canadian Veterans from all conflicts, as well as those who have made sacrifices on the home front.

Betty Smith, immediate past president of the Royal Canadian Legion Huntsville Branch 232, adds it’s imperative that we never forget the sacrifices that the veterans and their families made and those that were left behind. 

Here are the ceremonies happening across Muskoka: 

• Huntsville
  Venue: Royal Canadian Legion Branch 232 (21 Veterans Way)
  Date: Monday, November 11, 2024
  Time: 10:40 a.m.
  Note: The event is followed by a lunch in the clubroom at the Huntsville Legion 

• Bracebridge
  Venue: Memorial Park (130 Manitoba Street)
  Date: Monday, November 11, 2024
  Time: 10:30 a.m.
  Note: The Parade will start at 169 James St. 

• Gravenhurst
  Venue: Gravenhurst Legion (290 Veterans Way)
  Date: Monday, November 11, 2024
  Time: 10:50 a.m.
  Note: Service ends at 11:30 a.m. 

• MacTier
  Venue: Royal Canadian Legion MacTier (11 Elizabeth St)
  Date: Monday, November 11, 2024
  Time: 10:30 a.m.
  Note: The event is followed by a light luncheon.
