Muskoka District offers alternative payment options during postal strike

The District of Muskoka says preparations have been made to support residents, clients and customers who rely on postal services to access District services during the nationwide strike.

According to officials, the strike will impact the delivery of all mail and parcels, such as Ontario Works program support or for making water and sewer payments.

They add payments will remain available for pre-authorized debit (PAD), telebanking, or online banking in person at a bank or the District of Muskoka office.

The District says Ontario Works clients who normally receive income support cheques by mail can instead access pick-up and drop-off locations that have been established at each of their Community Service Hub locations:

  • Gravenhurst Community Services – 141 Main Street, Gravenhurst
  • Bracebridge Community Services – 70 Pine Street, Bracebridge
  • Huntsville Community Services – 1 King William St, Unit 5 Huntsville

For water and sewer account balance inquiries, residents are asked to reach out to [email protected], 705-645-7954, or 1-800-461-4210.
