Muskoka Job Board campaign recognized with national marketing award

A digital marketing campaign with an aim to bring more workers into Muskoka has been recognized by the Economic Developers Association of Canada.

Venture Muskoka, an economic alliance of the lower-tier municipalities within the District of Muskoka, has received the Marketing Canada Award for their Muskoka Job Board digital marketing campaign.

James Cox, Economic Development Officer with the Township of Muskoka Lakes and member of Venture Muskoka, says the board exemplifies their commitment to connecting employers with talent and their dedication to a regional and sustainable workforce.

Officials say it was launched in June 2023 to raise awareness of the jobs within Muskoka in collaboration with local marketing agency Top Water Communications.

They add it includes job opportunities from over 40 online job boards indexed and searchable by keyword, job type, municipality, and employment preference.

“The target audience was those seeking work in Muskoka or willing to relocate to Muskoka for work,” say officials.

Officials say Venture Muskoka is releasing a video series to encourage career paths that are in high demand within Muskoka during the second phase of their marketing plan.

On Nov. 5, Venture Muskoka presented its new Muskoka Workforce Strategy and Implementation Plan in Gravenhurst to community partners.

According to officials, topics included the current labour market needs and trends, workforce retention, skills development, and more.
