The Muskoka Lakes Fire Department has a few safety tips as the winter weather arrives to the area.
This after Ryan Murrell, fire chief with the fire department, said a school bus carrying anywhere from 10 to 20 kids slid into the ditch yesterday. (Nov. 27)
He says the bus was coming downhill and lost control.
Murrell says one person was treated at the scene by EMS for a minor injury and was taken to hospital as a precaution.

Murrell reminds everyone to go slow in the snow and make sure to have snow tires.
“When you see emergency lights in your rearview mirror, please do what you can to move to the right and slow down as much as possible so that we can overtake you and move on to the emergency,” says Murrell.
