Dwayne Drew, Major Core officer with the Salvation Army says the Project Porchlight has been postponed until next week.
The Huntsville area project was scheduled to start today at 6 p.m., but Drew says due to the inclement weather and the human resources being deployed in the Muskoka area, the project has been postponed until next Wednesday. (Dec. 11)
“The Fire Department and the EMS teams are short-staffed,” says Drew.
He says next week they will find an alternate location for food drop-off as they will be preparing for the distribution of their Christmas hampers and toys.
He says for people wanting to do food donations before the project, they can drop them off at their location.
“We will gladly accept them at Mary Street between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.,” says Drew.
