Huntsville Otters is hosting their annual food drive in support of The Table Soup Kitchen Foundation tonight.
The game will be held at the Canada Summit Centre (Dec. 13) starting at 7:30 p.m.
Kelly Farnsworth, secretary with the Huntsville Otters Jr. C Hockey Team, says admission is free to anyone who brings a donation.
“The Otters are a community-based team, and we rely on the businesses and the community members to operate our team,” says Farnsworth. “Huntsville is so supportive to us. So, we like to give back to our great community.”
She says they are asking for any nonperishable food items, winter hats and mittens, unwrapped gifts and cash donations.
Farnsworth says with the game, they want to support the foundation’s Christmas food drives leading into the holidays.
“With this Christmas season being particularly difficult financially for many, we recognize how many families are struggling in our community,” says Farnsworth. “We really would like to be able to help out in that manner and thinking we can work together with this great community in offering free games in lieu of bringing some type of donation to the table.”
