The District of Muskoka is updating its Lake System Health policies and wants your input.
The District has launched a survey that will be open until Feb. 6.
Officials add they are updating the policies to address challenges such as climate change, water quality, and shoreline development, adding it is part of the Muskoka Official Plan (MOP) Comprehensive Review.
“These policies guide waterfront development while protecting Muskoka’s natural environment,” say officials.
The District says the feedback from the survey will help balance environmental, economic and community priorities.
“Public participation is essential to ensure these updates are informed by the experiences, concerns, and priorities of the community,” say officials.
In addition to the survey, officials say the District will host a series of public consultation opportunities in the New Year.
