More funding is on the way for local hospitals in our region.
Graydon Smith, Parry Sound-Muskoka MPP, announced $6.5 million in new funding.
According to officials, Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare (MAHC) will get a $2.56 million base funding increase, while the West Parry Sound Health Centre (WPSHC) will get $1.81 million plus $2.19 million in one-time funding for in-year pressures.
Smith says the government “continues to put Parry Sound-Muskoka at the top of the priority list.”
“This new funding is a testament to our steadfast commitment to ensure that rural and small-town hospitals – like those in Parry Sound, Bracebridge and Huntsville – have the funding required to deliver excellent accessibility and quality of care,” adds Smith.
