A draft report on the Lake of Bays Roads License Agreement (RLA) will be published on Tuesday (Jan.7).
Officials say it will be available on the town’s website to read and comment on.
They add the draft titled “The Future of the RLA Program” will include findings from the review process, including recommendations based on public feedback and input from legal and insurance experts.
Council approved a 180-day moratorium on the agreement in August.
The pause came after residents shared their concerns with the agreement, which was passed in June.
At the time, the Town said the license agreement was to reduce potential risk and liability to the township and the taxpayers.
Some residents said they felt like municipal responsibilities were downloaded onto groups of taxpayers.
The draft report will be presented to council on Jan. 14, but according to officials, no final decisions will be made at that time.
“The report will remain open for public review and comment before being brought back to Council for further consideration,” say officials.
The final decision will be made on Feb. 11 following the presentation of the final report to council.
