The OPP’s holiday program wrapped up with 743 drivers charged with impaired driving between Nov. 21 and Jan. 1.
The Festive Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) program, led by the Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police, focuses on increased traffic enforcement and public education to raise awareness about the dangers of impaired driving during the holidays.
OPP officers say during the campaign, they conducted 9,268 RIDE initiatives throughout the province and issued 155 immediate roadside Warn Range Suspensions to drivers with a Blood Alcohol Concentration between 0.05 and 0.08.
