Georgian College is expanding its Centre for Skilled Trades.
Officials say the Barrie campus centre will be transformed to help sustain and grow the highly skilled trades workforce the region needs.
The college says the building will be modernized, and 20,000 square feet of additional space will also be added.
Georgian president and CEO Kevin Weaver says the skilled trades are one of the areas strengths, and they know important they are to a variety of local sectors.
39 skilled trades programs are currently offered by the school, including some here in Muskoka.
