The extreme cold warning continues to be in effect for our area.
Environment Canada says a period of extreme cold is expected Monday morning into Tuesday afternoon and may extend into Wednesday in some areas.
Wind chill values near minus 35 are expected with limited relief during the daytime hours.
In Bracebridge a snow squall warning has also been issued by the agency for this afternoon and into Wednesday morning.
Officials say lake effect snow off Georgian Bay is expected to move into the area this afternoon and persist into Wednesday morning before weakening and shifting northward. While there remains some uncertainty in the exact location of heaviest snowfall, at this time the highest amounts are expected closer to Georgian Bay.
