Health care will continue to be a major focus for Parry Sound-Muskoka MPP Graydon Smith, who was re-elected last week.
During his election campaign, Smith pledged to continue pushing forward the near billion-dollar redevelopment project to build new hospitals in Bracebridge and Huntsville.
“If there is one thing that I have worked on over the last 10 to 12 years as a mayor and your MPP, it is this project,” he said during a Feb. 19 debate on YourTV Muskoka. “We prioritized this project, moving it from somewhere in the 30’s to the top of the list. We can’t lose this opportunity. We need to continue to do the work that I have been doing with the Board, with doctors and with the community to make sure voices are heard and make sure that this plan continues to receive the adjustments it needs.”
After the election win, Smith re-iterated that stance, and committed to working to improve health care right across the region.
“I will always work on behalf of all the citizens for better health care here in Parry Sound-Muskoka, whether it is Almaguin, Huntsville, Bracebridge or Parry Sound. Everybody needs a hospital.”
