The B. Ingram Excellence Award is back for a second year, and nominations are now open.
According to Lakeland Generation officials, the $5,000 bursary was created in honour of Bryan Ingram, Lakeland’s Manager of Operations, who officials say passed away at a young age a year ago and continues his legacy and support of the next generation of young professionals.
The award is given to a student entering post-secondary education in engineering fields with the goal of pursuing a career in renewable energy.
“This student must demonstrate a keen aptitude for learning and a desire to serve their community. This $5,000 bursary is granted to one high school student annually from the Muskoka, Parry Sound and Almaguin school districts,” say officials.
Last year’s award was granted to Ethan Aitken, who decided to study Integrated Engineering.
To be eligible, applicants must be graduating high school this year and be permanent Ontario residents within the Parry Sound and Muskoka region.
Applications are open until May 30. For more information or to apply, click here.
