Local high school swim teams bringing home gold from OFSAA

There is hardware coming to Muskoka from Toronto thanks to some local student athletes.

Earlier this week Huntsville High School and Bracebridge Muskoka Lakes Secondary School attended The Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations (OFSAA) Swimming 2025 at Toronto PAN AM Centre.

Officials say there were 155 schools in attendance with 2,500 of the best swimmers in Ontario. Between both high schools there were 30 student athletes who represented the Muskoka region and brought home 7 OFSAA medals. They had multiple swimmers placing in the top 10 and relay teams in top 15 positions.

“We have grown this swim team over the past 13 years where we started with seven swimmers and now have a team with 30 swimmers and tons of enthusiasm and team spirit,” says Huntsville High School coach Ally Myers. “This year we took 15 swimmers to OFSAA. This is the highest number of swimmers we have ever had qualify for this event, so we were super proud. Beyond the amazing OFSAA medals swimmers posted best times and our Junior combined team ranked 12th out of 155 schools.”
