Police investigating after incident in Gravenhurst leaves man with life-threatening injuries

Police are investigating an incident that left one person with life-threatening injuries.

OPP says officers, Muskoka EMS, and the Gravenhurst Fire Department were dispatched on around 5:00 p.m. March 17 to a parking lot at 5 Pineridge Gate in Gravenhurst.

Police say witnesses saw a male in the parking lot who became agitated and caused significant damage to multiple vehicles.

Officers add the man then went to the back of the parking lot, gained access to a fenced area with high-voltage equipment, and was electrocuted while damaging the equipment inside.

According to police, due to the ongoing risks, providing medical care at the scene was difficult, and the male was transported to hospital with severe, life-threatening injuries.

The investigation is ongoing, and the individual has not yet been identified.

OPP describes him as a white male between 20 and 30 years old wearing a red and black crew-neck sweatshirt and red track pants.
