Town of Gravenhurst and Muskoka Discovery Centre collaborate to display local artwork

The Town of Gravenhurst is partnering up with the Muskoka Discovery Centre to display local artwork at the municipal office at 3-5 Pineridge Gate.

Officials say leading this project is the town’s Public Art Advisory Committee with help from the Muskoka Discovery Centre. The first round of art was up a few weeks ago in the lobby and the council chambers.

Mayor Heidi Lorenz says it’s an exciting opportunity, and they’re delighted to provide a space to spotlight the vast artistic talent in the region.

Officials add the artwork in the lobby will be viewable Monday to Friday from 8am to 4pm and other in the council chambers during committee and council meetings. They also say that the artwork is for sale and will be swapped out periodically throughout the year.

Town officials say they are planning to have an official open house in May to launch this new project.
