The Huntsville Sting U11 Black team earned second place and a $20,000 prize in the 2025 Chevrolet Good Deeds Cup.
This year, the team selected the Huntsville Hospital Foundation as their chosen charity.
Officials say the team made a real impact through good deeds that included donating books to the local book cubby, filling the community food cupboard with groceries, clearing snow off teachers’ cars and more.
“It feels good. Knowing that the money is going to a good charity, to a good cause, you can’t complain,” says Paul Goyda, current Head Coach of the U11 Huntsville Sting team.
Goyda says the girls came second out of 54 teams competing in the Good Deeds Cup.
“They put their heart and soul into it,” says Goyda.
He says Edmonds Chevrolet Buick GMC added in an extra $5,000 to make it $25,000.
Katherine Craine, CEO of The Huntsville Hospital Foundation, says her team witnessed the hard work of the girls, parents, and coaches.
“We’re going to set aside something really cool that we will buy for $25,000 so that these girls will see what they bought and what their efforts are going towards,” says Craine.
Craine added $25,000 is a significant amount for the hospital, allowing them to purchase items like an ECG machine, a bed, or stretchers.
