Local school boards say their schools in areas affected by the weekend’s ice storm will be closed tomorrow (March 31).
The Trillium Lakelands District School Board (TLDSB) and the Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board (SMCDSB) say due to road conditions, power outages, and internet/network outages in some areas, they have taken the decision to close all schools.
That includes the Virtual Learning Centre, education centres, and child care centres.
“This decision was made for the safety of students and staff, and we are communicating with families now in an effort to give time to make alternative arrangements,” say TLDSB officials.
They add schools will not be moving to online learning.
