The Town of Bracebridge is reminding residents that parks and trails are closed and not maintained during the off season.
Officials say because of the ice storm there has been a lot of damage and debris that has made these areas unsafe, but crews will begin cleaning up once it is safe for them to do so.
They add to be extremely cautious in these locations and to avoid visiting until further notice.
Town officials are putting up signage where it is needed, however they advise that the absence of signs does not indicate that the area is available for use.
The Town adds effective immediately the cross-country ski trails at the Bracebridge Resource Management Centre are closed for the season due to the ice storm along with the upcoming spring thaw.
Town officials are asking all residents and visitors to respect the closures to ensure safety and to help protect the trails for future use.
