UPDATE: Public assistance helps police arrest robbery suspect

Update: A 52-year-old Huntsville man has been arrested and is facing a robbery with theft charge, according to police.

Officers say the suspect was identified with assistance from the community and arrested on the afternoon of April 7.

He is being held for a bail hearing on May 27.

An OPP investigation is continuing. 

Police are seeking the public’s assistance following a robbery at the Circle K gas station on Hanes Road in Huntsville.

Police say on April 7, at around 4:30 a.m., officers responded to a report of a robbery at the local convenience store and spoke with witnesses.

According to the OPP, a lone male suspect entered the store, demanded money, and fled with an undisclosed amount of cash in a vehicle driven by another person.

Officers say they believe the suspect arrived earlier in the night in a dark pick-up truck but returned to commit the crime in a four-door sedan.

According to police, the suspect is described as a white man, approximately 60 years old, with a white beard, glasses, wearing a camouflage hoodie, grey sweatpants, black shoes, and a green hat.

An investigation is ongoing.
