Today, shortly before 4 pm, officers from the West Parry Sound OPP received word of an aircraft having engine problems 20 kilometers south of Sudbury and 18 kilometres west of Key River. A Piper airplane with 3 occupants on board reportedly left Sudbury and had to make an emergency landing on Georgian Bay. Radio contact was lost.
Efforts are currently underway to locate the aircraft.
Transport Canada Safety Board has been notified and will be assisting in the investigation.
