Bracebridge councilors have been cleared of any wrongdoing. The Ombudsman of Ontario had launched a Closed Meeting Investigation about a General Committee Meeting on December 9th and a following Council Meeting on December 17th after a complaint that parts of the meetings were kept private without it being warranted. The Ombudsman now concludes the Town didn’t contravene the Municipal Act when it closed portions of the meetings to the public. A complaint had alleged the discussions at the meetings didn’t fit within the exceptions to open meeting requirements.
