A local artist has been nominated for an award at the national level.
Huntsville native, Beverley Hawksley is one of the 54-nominations for the Salt Spring National Art Prize. This award is given to artists who demonstrate a visual impact and depth of meaning. Hawksley, who creates two-dimensional art, says this nomination means a lot.
The award ceremony is on October 24th. The first place winner receives close to $25,000.
