A group named ‘Save the Bala Falls’ is taking legal action against the Township of Muskoka Lakes.
Following a letter sent to council warning them not to enter into a lease agreement with Swift River Energy.
The group has now filed an injunction against council.
They claim council did not follow the necessary acts, bylaws and policies for the contemplated lease, which would affect Portage Landing, the south half of Don’s Bakery parking lot and the north half of Precambrian Shield parking lot.
The group believes that council would have been deciding on entering a lease agreement with Swift Current Energy during their Friday council meeting.
