The Town of Huntsville is encouraging you to minimize light pollution in and around the area.
This is because of the Outdoor Lighting By-law which was passed in January 2016.
Councillor Bob Stone says minimizing light pollution protects the natural environment and maintains a view of the stars.
Stone is asking people to make sure their outdoor lighting is directed where it’s intended and nowhere else.

He says residents have until January 2026 to make their lighting dark-friendly, and in compliance with the bylaw.
